The ideal thing to do is hold the brush in a 45-degree angle to cover both the gums and teeth at the same time; then move the brush back and forth.

Using either manual or electric toothbrush would not matter since oral health can be kept in shape if the patient observes the correct oral hygiene practices.

Keep the bone strong

As much as possible, patients are advised to mind their calcium intake since this can help in reducing their risk of developing severe gum disease. Calcium can actually help strengthen the alveolar bone in the jaw that keeps the teeth in place. Dairy products, almonds, salmon, and leafy dark green vegetables can also provide the said essential mineral.

Avoid harmful vices

Aside from being dangerous to the body, smoking and alcohol drinking can drain the body of mouth-friendly vitamins and minerals.
